It's been a great Friday!
- Date day with my wife is always incredible!
- I had the opportunity to have breakfast with a guy this morning who started attending Journey on October 14, 2001, the first Sunday we went weekly! He, and his family, are "planted in the house of the Lord." I bet his daughter has invited more people to Journey than any other person!
- Ladies, "Reflect" is tomorrow at 11:00! It sounds like there is going to be a great turnout. I know Robin is excited about a great meal from "Fancy That", great worship, great community, and a time to share what God has put on her heart!
- The Competitive soccer season starts for Caleb in the morning. He is pumped!
- Sunday is going to be a blast! We are going to get real practical about how to hear God!
- Don't forget to get there early to help deal with the seating and ...

Every once in a while, I like to take a moment to brag a little on people, who in my opinion, are tearing it up. Today I want to share a few thoughts about 2 people: JT Harrison and Mac Richard.
It was a little over a year ago, August 15th, when JT Harrison stepped off our team to pursue the dream of having his own business. Through the process of hearing God, he and Brooke launched Harrisiondp.com. JT now spends his time helping you with creative ideas and projects that will further your dreams.
I can't say enough how proud I am of JT for taking the risk to pursue his dream! He is a man full of integrity, full of God's spirit, and full of creative ideas that will help your business!
The second person I want to brag a little on is Mac Richard.
God brought Mac, and Julie, into our lives a ...

Wow! What a weekend! Here's a few thoughts;
- All honor goes to God for what He is doing in Journey! It is absolutely amazing! I love people coming up saying, "I don't know what is different, but I've never felt God this way." I love it!
- I love people coming to Christ! It never gets old!
- I am so proud of our worship team and where they are leading us.
- My son just interrupted me with the greatest question in the world - "Dad, was I little Johnnie?" The answer is - No. If you missed today you'll have to watch the message online to understand the question.
- The end of the worship experience will be one of my favorite moments in Journey history! To sit on the stage and watch thousands of people take time to hear God was pretty overwhelming.
- The 9:45 and 11:30 worship experiences were truly cheek to cheek! The parking ...

1. The kids are back in school! Did I say that with too much excitement? I love the summer time, but I love my kids having a routine!
2. Invite everyone you know, who doesn't attend church, to Journey this weekend! I will be teaching on how to have a heart for hearing God! I'm pumped about what God is going to do! Don't miss it!
3. Tonight we kick off "Pray 48". We are turning Theatre 2, at the North Campus, into a prayer room. We start things off at 7 tonight with a time of prayer and worship together. We will be having a corporate time tomorrow night, and Saturday night also (click here to see schedule). Can't wait to share!
4. Get here early this weekend! Last weekend was packed and it's easier when everyone isn't running in late. (Just being honest.)
5. Be praying for some meetings we have early next week with the city to na ...

So many thoughts running through my mind that I don't know where to start, so I'll take a cue from my friend Herbert Cooper and just begin to download.
1. I could not be more pleased with what God is doing through Journey Church! I am the most blessed pastor in the world to get to be part of this house.
2. Sunday was amazing! The worship, the greeting, the kid's ministry, the energy - everything was off the charts!
3. We need your help making room until we get the new East Campus open! Come early, squeeze in, park politely! What a great problem to have.
4. The new JCEC (Journey Church East Campus) is simply amazing! I have never been more excited about any opportunity in our church's history. The build out is perfect! Incredible!
5. I love our staff! They are absolutely tearing it up. I met with them this morning for them to share their fall plans - Wow! The thing I love most ...

One of the things that excites me the most is the selfless attitude in which our church is approaching ministry! In every moment, there is always opportunity to allow our egos, and our own intentions, to win out over the intentions of God. What I love is watching a staff team come alongside hundreds of volunteers who simply want to see God move!!
Being selfless takes a lot of courage. When you lay down your own agendas and ideals, to fit within a bigger picture, it can be very rewarding, but it can also be very scary!
Many people mistake selflessness for a timid attitude. But there is nothing timid about it. When you are laying down your agenda for the agenda of Christ there is no timidity. Actually, there is a great confidence in what God is doing! There is a great pride in what the body is doing as a whole. There is an everlasting excitement of seeing people come alive in Christ.
Journey, thank you ...

The ability of our church to Re-imagine.
There are many people in our world who simply get locked up by change. They like things the way they are, and why should we ever change them? On the other hand, there are people, like me, who change things just because they are bored, and that is very dangerous too! What I do enjoy, though, is serving with a group of people who are willing to embrace what God is doing and allow Him to stretch us.
This past year has been a tremendously challenging and rewarding year. It was a little over a year ago when I realized there were some unhealthy aspects about my life, that were reflected in our church, that simply needed to be changed. So, with the covering of my mentors, I chose to embark on what would be one of the most daunting challenges of my leadership history, changing some of the core things about my own life.
A year later I could not be happier with what God has done in our church, and i ...

The people!!
It is continually humbling to see the quality of people that God has planted, and is planting, at Journey! Even this past weekend we had a group here from Michigan who continually commented on how friendly and authentic everyone seemed.
I love how people are moving more and more towards God, no matter where they are on their journey. I love the selfless attitude that permeates throughout the whole church. I love that people are focusing more on God than they on programming and production. I love that people are praying and fasting. I love that people are bringing their friends and family.
I love the people of Journey Church! You are a people whose heart is for God and others! I have never had more fun than now being a part of Journey!
