This Sunday I kick off a new series: "All In". For the next four weeks we are going to be taking a look at the possibilities that God has for Journey Church as we all go "All In". While the past 8 years have been simply miraculous, the next 8 will be something you don't want to miss!
Here are a few things that will never change:
- We will passionately share the gospel! There are thousands of people in our communities that don't know the love of Christ and we will do everything possible to reach them!
- We will be relentless about reaching the next generation! The stats are simple: only 4% of the youngest generation alive have a relationship with Christ! We are becoming an unreached people group! Not going to happen!
- Our target ministries will be children, youth, and college! While we will do more than ever this coming years in discipling adults, we are ready to crank it up anot ...

This past Sunday could mark my favorite Sunday in the history of Journey Church! I was absolutely blown away by, and humbled by, people's response at the end of the worship experience. I loved having the opportunity to pray over everyone who wants to Dream Wildly with their lives. I am so proud of the hundreds of people who took the uncomfortable step of faith to come forward for prayer! It was great!
As I stood there praying I was overwhelmed with the thought of how to continue the conversation of helping people live into their God-given potential and dreams. My heart is not to have a moment in a worship experience, but a moment with God that continues to make the cause of Christ evolve in your life.
To reiterate what I shared Sunday, there are three Biblical truths your dream should be in alignment with:
- The Cause of Christ
- Building the Local Church
- ...

I can't wait for this Sunday! I am so pumped up about sharing the last message of "Storyline"! This weekend will be talking about how to "Dream Wildly."
I'll be introducing you to a couple of college guys who are absolutely tearing it up for Christ! They have decided to live differently - love recklessly - lead couragously - and they are DREAMING WILDLY!
My prayer is that God will deposit a dream in your life that will affect every area of your life! I'm praying that your friends will be impacted by God's presence in a big time way!
I look forward to seeing you Sunday! It's a great weekend to bring a friend!

Over fall break, I jumped back into a pretty good reading routine. If you don't make a priority to read, I highly encourage you to do so. There is no doubt in my mind, that the key to a great life is being a great learner. God wants us to always be growing.
Here are a few books on my current list:
1. Do Hard Things by Alex & Brett Harris - This is a book written by 2 teenage brothers who talk about how we as a society have lowered the expectations on young people. Incredible thoughts! Well written! Every parent and youth should read it! Parents should read while their kids are still young.
2. The Leadership Code: Five Rules to Lead By - Great reminder book! It doesn't have any new thoughts, but it does a great job driving home thoughts you have heard forever. Probably does as good as any book on making the thoughts practical and applicable.
3. How the Mighty Fall by Jim Collins - Another home ru ...

The past week has been simply amazing! Robin and I took some time off, for each other and the kids, and had a blast!
Here is a recap:
- Thursday was spent cleaning the house all day!
- After the cleaning was done we took off to spend the weekend at the lake. There were a lot of great highlights, from hiking to horseback riding and just hanging out.
- The 2 sad points were having the boat winterized and getting the car stuck in the mud! Yes, stuck! As in had to find someone to pull us out stuck! Robin didn't think it was nearly as funny as I did.
- Obviously watching the game Saturday was kind of a bummer, but Sunday was great!
- Went and hung out at Peopleschurch.tv Sunday with my friend Herbert Cooper - it was great! I love ...

One of the things I have noticed I have the ability to do is complicate things! I don't know if you struggle with this talent or not, but from simply observing, most of us do.
I was reading in 2 Chronicles 1 where Solomon was visited by God in the night, and God asked him, "If you could ask for anything, what would you request?"
The answer: "To have the wisdom to lead your people properly."
At the end of the day, that is the one call on all of our lives - to lead the people that God has put in our sphere of influence properly. We do that by the decisions we make, the way we respond to people, the way we pray for people - and the list goes on.
I encourage you to take a moment today to make a simple request - "God, give me the wisdom to lead properly."

THIS WEEKEND!!! I have loved teaching the series STORYLINE and this weekend I'm pumped about the message. We will be taking the next 2 weeks to look at how to "Lead Courageously".
ALL IN - On the first Sunday of November we begin a series that will begin to shape the future of Journey's history! I shared, back in February, the strategy of how to see a city transformed – now we begin to launch the strategy.
CHRISTMAS AROUND THE WORLD - We are doing something in December this year that we have never done! We will spend the whole month looking at Acts 1:8! It will rock your world!
REFLECT: WOMEN'S MINISTRY - Robin, and the team, have done an amazing job at rallying hundreds of women in Journey! They are simply getting it done!
ALL THE MINISTRIES - I could not be prouder of all the ministries at Journey! I am so blessed to work with the group of people I get to do life with every day.

I am often amazed at the huge difference one foot makes. It can make or break a golf tournament. It can mean a ball in the net or in the middle of the air. It can mean a firstdown or a punt. It can mean the door fits or doesn't. One foot can make a huge difference!
While that list is important, and can have a ton of things added, I think the greatest difference a foot makes is between
YOUR HEAD and YOUR HEART!
If you approach life with the logic of your head you will find yourself defeated, confused, doubtful, fearful, etc.
If you approach life with the faith in your heart you will find victory, peace, hope, courage, etc.
Think about - David was chosen because of his heart! I want to encourage you today, the enemy will try to mess with your mind, but choose to listen to God's promises from your heart!
When you realize what a huge difference a foot m ...

Today we continued our series "Storyline". I had an absolute blast today sharing some thoughts about how to love recklessly. One of the ways we judge our effectiveness is to listen to other's stories. Here is one from today.
I wonder sometimes how God wants us to love. Today, in our lives the word love is thrown around so much, but what is true love? There has always been one verse that stood out to me about love. 1 John 3:16 paints the perfect picture of love and what loving recklessly truly means. “For this how we know what love is: for Jesus Christ laid down his life for us, and we should lay our lives down for one another”. This means that we don't really love a person until you are willing to lay down our lives for them. Christ showed us this in everything he ever did. If you loo ...
