I can only begin to tell you how excited I am to be on the team with Journey and doing life with you! When my wife Selah and I moved to Norman six weeks ago from St. Louis, Missouri, I think we only had a clue as to what God was up to! Here we are diving into College Journey and anticipating God to do a huge work with the students to change a campus and a city.
My heart has always been towards discipleship, especially college students. There is a question that rises out of the 18-25 age range that cries “What is my purpose?”. I love to watch boys grow into men and girls become women knowing who they were created to be. As we pour into them we will see a generation develop before our lives into the leaders of the next generation.
There is an age old debate, “Are leaders born or made?” – I believe the answer is both. Every person is born with the ability to influence others. Even the most introverted person will touch over 10,000 people in their lifetime! Can you even imagine what could be if we actually intentioned to develop young people to lead from their hearts, with a missional perspective for life and carry the message of the Gospel forward into churches, hospitals, boardrooms, homes, etc... the potential is world-changing!!
God is calling Journey Church to move forward with tenacity and ruthlessness to reach these young men and women and see a movement take place. I know God will get the glory and am privileged to be along for the journey!
