Today is Robin's birthday, so I thought I would take a moment to honor the most incredible woman on the planet!

It was 20 years ago this week that I met an innocent, shy, large permed, 18 year old girl from Deer Creek. We had gone to a Farrell & Farrell concert, at MetroChurch, and went to Braum's afterwards with 2 sixth grade girls who take credit for setting us up. As we sat in the classy pink booths of the 80's style Braum's, there was more staring than conversation. It was that night in January that my life would change forever!

If you know Robin today, but you didn't know her back then, you wouldn't even think she is the same person! More than any person that I know, Robin truly has stepped into her God-given potential! She has learned to embrace the discomfort of changing her patterns and began to take hold of God's gifting in her life!

Over the years she has:

  • Modeled what it means to serve with the attitude of Christ.
  • Set the example of what it means to be hospitable.
  • Been a loving Mom, who lives for her kids, but doesn't put them before her husband.
  • Kept life-long friendships alive, encouraging people through all seasons.
And that just mentions a few!

Somehow she balances putting up with me, working in Women's Ministry, volunteering at the kid's schools, working at the dance studio, and managing the soccer team. All that is after she takes care of all the basics just to keep our family going!

So in my book, my bride is pretty amazing! I love what she has grown into over the past 20 years!

Happy Birthday!
