I'll never forget in my late 20's getting so frustrated at older people when they would say, "We are just waiting on God"! It drove me nuts!!! One day I finally had enough of "waiting", so I began to try to figure out what in the world it meant to wait on God. Sitting in the "Mitchell mini-van" at a soccer tournament in Ponca City I looked up Isaiah 40:3, studied the orginal text, and it changed my life forever!

Yet those who wait for the LORD will renew their strength;
They will mount up with wings like eagles,
         They will run and not get tired,
         They will walk and not become weary. Isaiah 40:31

The word wait there literally means to be "interwoven with God", that is what waiting is all about! It's not that we are waiting on God to decide to act, we are taking time to allow Him to interweave every area of our lives with His Spirit. Reality is we probably don't "wait" on God near as much as He "waits" on us!

So the question is - what areas in your life are you holding out on God? I dare you to allow Him to interweave those areas with His ways and watch what happens!
